The members of the Human Rights Commission recommended Sarah Carlson as Chairperson and Jennifer Welvaert as Vice-Chairperson.
Authorized Contract Negotiations for Architectural and Engineering Services and Construction Services for the Municipal Services Building
The Council’s Strategic Plan (2021-2025) identified the vision of “In 2025 Chaska has quality City Facilities”. From this vision, came the strategic direction of “Reinvesting in Core Assets: Facilities are adequate to meet growth and reflect community pride”.
The Public Safety Facility is the first facility to be updated and construction is underway. The next building is the Municipal Services Building (MSB). With the adoption of the 2025 budget, funding for construction of the MSB has been secured.
After issuing a request for proposal for full architectural and engineering design and construction services, staff received 13 proposals. 5 were brought back for interviews. After a comprehensive hiring process, staff recommended moving forward with Oertel Architects, Ltd for architectural and engineering services. For construction services, staff recommends working with RJM, which is construction manager that is working on the Public Safety Facility.
Council authorized staff to negotiate contracts with Oertel Architects, Ltd. and RJM.
