Chaska Community Center: Master Plan Task Force
Chaska Parks and Recreation is preparing to develop a master plan for the Chaska Community Center and as part of that process we will be putting together a Citizen Task Force that will include about 15 people. The Chaska Community Center turned 30 years old this year, so it is an opportunistic time to engage the community and understand what changes/improvements we want to make to the programming offered, possible remodeling of spaces or additions onto the building, and how we operate the facility.
The Community Center is a gathering space for everyone, and we want to ensure we are engaging our entire community as we develop this plan so it will be successful as we implement the ideas in the future.
Our hope is that we get interest from a wide variety of people with different opinions and experiences on the Citizen Task Force to represent the community. The Citizen Task Force will work with the city staff project team and consultants to assist with community engagement and provide ideas/feedback throughout the planning process. We anticipate there will be approximately 6 meetings lasting about 2 hours each (the dates and times yet to be determined).
We have an on-line application that you can access on our Community Center website or via the link below. We invite you to fill out this application and share the application with others you may know who would be interested. The deadline to fill out the application is January 30th. We anticipate the first Citizen Task Force meeting to be at the end of February or early March.
