The Chaska Business Newsletter

Hello, I am Julie Grove, the City’s Economic Development Coordinator, and I would like to introduce the City’s inaugural business newsletter - the Chaska Business News. The City values our business community and wants to ensure your business knows about the technical and financial assistance resources available to support your operation and investment. 

The intent of the Business News is to share information, helpful resources and success stories with Chaska’s business community. If you are not interested in receiving these emails please click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of this post. Hopefully, you will find value in the articles, resources and information provided. Additionally, I will send out periodic information about free business assistance webinars and other time sensitive opportunities for business grants and financial assistance programs when available.

SciTech Internship Program

The SciTech Internship Program is a free small business resource designed to make hiring interns easier and more affordable. 

SciTech connects STEM college students (science, technology, engineering and math) to paid internships that provide rewarding hands-on experience in small Minnesota businesses. 

Employers receive assistance finding qualified candidates and a wage reimbursement to cover 50% of the intern’s wages (capped at $2,500) when they hire a student through SciTech.

The City of Chaska offers a variety of financing options for projects that keep development in our city vibrant and growing. These resources are administered by both the City and our partners. Based on the specific needs of each business, City staff works as an advocate to put together a business assistance incentive package to ensure success. Some of the most popular programs are:

Support Local Everything!

The City of Chaska recently launched a “Support Local Everything” campaign to encourage residents to shop locally and help maintain a vibrant, small business friendly community. 

We have Support Local window clings and stickers available for display in shops and for personal use. Request one to proudly show your local pride.

How is the economy impacting your business?

We are partnering with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis to give local businesses a voice. Your response to this short survey will help the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank and its local partners understand the impact the economy is having on your business.  

Answers to these questions contribute to regional data that directly inform the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, local partners, policymakers, and others — a public good ultimately benefiting your business and others like yours.

Jones Coffee

Jones Coffee has opened at the corner of 2nd St E & Hwy 41. They serve fresh-roasted beans, artisan espresso drinks, unique blends, non-alcoholic beverages, breakfast and lunch. Edible India had their grand opening on January 17 in Chaska. They are proud to offer authentic Indian cuisine crafted with traditional recipes and aromatic spices.
